The bee hive and bees were cut from the Heritage cricut cartridge

Pooh was cut at 5 inches using cricut cartridge "Pooh and Friends"

Grass was cut with "Everyday Paper Dolls" cricut cartridge at 10 inches

"Uniquely You" was Close To My Heart "Flowering Bunch" stamp set

The two sentiments under the photo mats were from "Treasured Life" stamp set from Close To My Heart.

Jungle Animals

Good Morning everyone.  Today I want to share with you a layout I made using the file "Jungle
Animals" from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com.  I just fell in love with this set when I saw it.
I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo so I was able to size the giraffe larger than the other two critters.  I wanted to use him more for a border.  Used Martha Stewart punches for the borders and littel burlap for texture.

I don't know if you have heard, but Nikki at www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com has lowered her everyday prices to .99 for sets and .50 for singles.  She is also a Silhouette dealer, so you can buy all your supplies and accessories, along with the machines from her.  :)

Hope you enjoyed this layout, it was a lot of fun to do.

For my project I made a super cute scrapbook layout.  It was inspired by the window card I made last week and one of Nikki's new files.
I wanted to make this layout look like the side of a house.  I took coordinations sandable stack and scored it at every 1 1/2 inches and then sanded the score lines to give it a weathered siding look.  I placed the window card in the upper left hand corner with Pookey bear peaking out the window at the
Rainy Day Bear, as if he is checking to see if it is ok to come out and play.  I used the trees for "shrubbery" from the Campin Crazy file.  What I did was combined them in my Silhouette studio software and then used the print and cut feature.  Then popped up the Rainy Day Bear on pop dots to give it some demension.

Using the card on the layout gives you plenty of room for pictures and/or hidden journaling.  This is a picture of one side of the tri-fold card open..

And here it is fully open - total photo mats are 5 - 4 with the tri fold card and one matted on the upper right hand side of the layout :)  I love using cards for this reason - you get a lot of real estate on a 12 x 12 sheet of paper.

Now hop on over to Amanda and make sure you leave a comment on each stop along the way. When you're done hopping, check out the new items at our store, www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com , and 'like' our facebook page for weekly challenges and fun giveaways!

Creative Cards #2

Hi Everyone.  I made another window card with the new Creative cards cartridge.  This one looks like the front window on your house.

The bee and little teddy bear came from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com , which I hand cut out.  If you have not shopped at Nikki's store, she has files to fit everyones needs.  If you have a Silhouette or other electronic cutter, she has the files for those, but if you don't - she has them so you can hand cut them out too - so if you you are looking for cute files that you can't get on a cartridge, check out Nikki's site.

Cricut's New "Creative Cards"

Today, I used the new Cricut cartridge, "Creative Cards".  I made the first card on the cartridge which is the birdcage card.  I didn't realize it was a tri-fold card - what a great surprise!!

Here is the front of the card, cut at 5 1/4 inches or just press "fit to page" feature on your expression and it will automatically cut at 5 1/4 inches.
here is the inside flap.  You can add a small sentiment below so it will not be seen when the card is closed.
and here is the card totally open for you to write.  You can cut two of the mats and mount it to the right side also if you wanted to :).

I watched a youtube video on someone that made this into a swing card.  I believe she did this in the Cricut Craftroom or possibly with her gypsy.  She widened the opening and made the birdcage a little smaller and hung it with a brad so it swung through the opening.  Very cute version.   You could cut the birdcage out in black to make it look like a wrought iron cage also.

All in all I think it came out cute.  The cartridge also has a coordinating envelope to cut for this card.

Hope you like it.

Create a Critter 2

Happy Sunday!!  I am so excited, I bought the Create a Critter 2 yesterday!  I have been looking at it for a while and wondered since I have the original Create a Critter (my all time favorite) if I really needed to get this one.  I am so glad I did.  Even though it has a lot of the same critters as the original one, they have different outfits for different occasions.  I found this chocolate Easter bunny on there and instantly thought of peeps.  I know peeps are usually chicks, but they do have bunny ones now so I made this card with that thought in mind.

I cut the bunnies at 3 3/4 inches along with the grass.  I thought it would be really cute to add the colorful googly eyes and added a little pearl accent to the middle of the bow ties.    It feels so good to make a card with Spring in mind!!!
