Butterfly Kisses Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Butterfly Kisses Blog Hop, we are helping Kari celebrate, her blog is one year old!!
Her only requirement was to put butterflies on your project.  I LOVE butterflies so I signed up early for this one.  If you came from Janet's Blog you are in the right place, if you did not start at the beginning, please visit Kari's blog.  You will not want to miss one project!

For my project, I made a scrapbook layout of my 4 year old great niece.  She wanted her Nana (my sister) to make her a new dress for church, she picked out the fabric and even helped hem the sleeve of her dress.  She was so proud of it, my sister said she showed her sleeve to many people at the church and told them how she sewed.
She loves to stand over the heat register too LOL.    Here is a closer look at the sentiment I used, it is from K Andrew's stamp set "Positive Thoughts".

If you have not had an opportunity to try K Andrew's stamps, you must try them.  They are very high quality and stamp beautifully.  She also donates $1.00 of every stamp set sold to charity.

We have the best sponsors for our hop that will just blow your mind!!!

Challenge - Winter Warmth

Happy Wednesday everyone!!  Hope everyone is keeping warm with this cold weather we are having.  This past weekend we had 12 below in the morning - I wanted to stay under the covers a little bit longer than I did!  But it is good snuggling weather :).

Today, I am co-hosting a challenge on Cooking with Cricut.  Our theme is Winter Warmth.  Create something warm, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, hats, mittens - you get the idea.  So I chose to use Winter Frolic cricut cartridge to make my card.
I cut the beaver at 3 3/4 inches and faux stitched on his hat and scarf.  I had some red stitched ribbon that I thought went well with the scarf and it gave it a little bit of texture.  Embossed the white cardstock with the devine swirls from cuttlebug and then inked around the edges and again faux stitched in black.

The sentiment "smile" came from K Andrew's art stamps.  This one is from the "Positive Thoughts"
 K Andrew Designs
I love these stamps, and I love a great value, I have to share...K Andrew is coming out with her new Valentine sets and if you order now and use LINDAFREESHIP, you get free shipping!!  Now that makes me, warm and fuzzy LOL !!

Keep warm everyone!

Simple Sunday Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone.  Hope everyone is having a relaxing day.  Today here in Maine it is very very cold, so I am busy crafting while the fireplace is crackling.

This Simply Sunday Challenge, the theme is Let it Snow and to use embossing.  Perfect for Maine weather.

I decided to make a tag.  I used Winter Frolic Cricut Cartridge
The snow angel was cut at 3 1/4 inches.  The sentiment " Happiness is an inside job!" is from K Andrew "Positive Thoughts" stamp set.

K Andrew Designs
I absolutely love this stamp set!!!  I can think of so many project I can use them on.

Don't forget to check in every day this week to see more projects using this awesome stamp set.  It all leads up to a blog hop on Friday which you will not want to miss!!

Something Old, Something New, Something borrowed, something blue.

Welcome to Day one of PaperCraftingWorld.com and CookingWithCricut.com’s first Blog Hop of 2012! Our theme is: “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue!”

If you have arrived here from Charlotte’s blog www.alittlebitofdetail.blogspot.com  you’re in the right place! If you’re joining us mid-hop, head on over to see Melin at www.CookingWithCricut.com and start at the beginning so you don’t miss any of the wonderful projects the Designers have created!

Our Designers had to use something old from their craft stash, something new (a recent purchase or new technique), something borrowed (an element from a Cricut cut or from a PaperCraftingWorld.com cutting file or digi stamp) and of course, something blue.

Here is what I came up with . . .
This is my layout of my son when he was 8 years old.  We bought him his first puppy, Jazmine.  I was blessed to have a mom that watched him during the day while I was at work (this was in the summer time) and Jazzy went every where with my son, as you can see, they even took naps together LOL.
Something old - my sons pictures (he is now 22)
Something New - I used my new cricut cartridge Kates ABC's for the title
Something borrowed - I borrowed the dog and the dog tag from Four legged friends cricut cartridge
Something blue - my title and the blue in the patterned paper.

I used K Andrews "Positve thoughts" stamp set for the saying in the dog tag which is "Life is grand".
I have to say this stamp set is awesome, it is a set that I reach for all the time.

For my blog candy, I am giving away a set of K Andrews "Positive Thoughts" stamp set.  All you need to do is leave a comment, become a follower, and go visit K Andrew store and let me know which stamp set is your favorite.

Now head on over to Jill’s blog, www.jaihartjustlovelydesigns.blogspot.com and see what she’s created!

Make sure you check in tomorrow at CookingWithCricut.com and see what the Day Two Designers have cooked up! Thanks for stopping by and hopping with us!

For my project I decided to make a scrapbook layout of my great nephew, Tyler.  He is just learning how to swim so my boyfriend and I took him to Fun Town Splash Town water park this past summer.  He was like a fish!!  He kept yelling that he wanted to go under!!  He had us in stitches.  At one time, he dove off of Mikes shoulder!!  Next year, he will be big enough for the water slides.
I used Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge for the little boy and Plantin Schoolbook for the title.

Ringing in the New Year with Paper Piecings by Nikki

Welcome to the first blog hop for Paper Piecings by Nikki.  Nikki is a very talented artist and is coming up with a bunch of new designs, she will even take special requests!  If you just came from Patti's Blog you are in the right place, if you want to start at the beginning you will want to start at
Nikki's Blog.

One of my resolutions this year is to take the time to read more.  I love to read and sadly don't give myself permission to just relax and read.  It is a luxury to find that time all to yourself, uninterrupted.
So to remind myself to do this, I used one of Nikki's new designs called Beary Beary Fun,(you get 5 bears to play with.) and made myself a corner bookmark.
I think he is just too stinkin cute!!!  He looks like he is asking you, "Whatcha doin?"  He cracks me up.  I can see making a bunch of these for teachers to encourage the children to read.    You can also use them as photo corners for your scrapbook pages.

Nikki has some awesome blog candy.  In order to be eligible, you must follow her blog, subscribe by email to her blog, and like her facebook page Paper Piecings by Nikki.

The next talented person on the hop is Liz

Here is the lineup in case you get lost along the way.

First Project for 2012

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  I was lucky to receive a Silhouette Cameo and have been trying to learn how to use it.  This is my first layout I made using my new machine.
I cut the grass out with the Silhouette, it was an image I purchased from the silhouette site and I think it was to be used for a card front but I stretched it out to fit a 12 x 12 page.  My dad has always been a hunter, fishman and lover of nature, so I wanted my page to look like I was watching him through the tall grasses, putting him in his element.  To help add to his element, I placed a few owls from www.kandrewdesigns.com.  My dad has always been my best friend, been there to listen, offer advice, and love me even when I made mistakes.  He is a truly awesome man!! and I am glad he is my dad.
Hope you like it as much as I do.

Free Products!!

Happy New Year!!  This is my favorite time of year with Stampin Up!  Why?  Because I can earn free product!  Right now we are celebrati...
