Nikki over at Paper Piecings by Nikki is having another challenge and an AWESOME GIVEAWAY!!  Seriously, you have to go check it out - so generous!! This time you have to create a scrapbook layout, card or tag using her Very Beary Christmas pattern set or Baking Memories set.  I decided to go with a scrapbook layout.
I printed the bears at 4 x 4 and used my cricut cartridge for the large tags.  The title is a freebie on Nikki's site and it fit this layout beautifully.  This layout is of my niece when her husband asked her to marry him last Christmas.  I was so lucky to be part of that moment.

If you have not seen or used Nikki's designs, I would say you are definately missing out - she is coming out with a lot of new things - I know she is working on some penquins - definately a MUST see.  Stop by her site, at www.paperpiecingsbyNikki.com - yo will be glad you did.

CWC Challenge #64 Holiday cards, gift and tags

Happy Wednesday everyone!  This week's challenge on Cooking with Cricut is to make a holiday card, gift or tag focusing on the quick easy last minute type of ideas.  Well I can tell you that my card fits this catagory because I forgot about this deadline and I was able to complete it in less than half an hour.  I liked it so much I just finished making 10 of them!
I used the free image that CWC had this week and I just cut out "Family" with the Heritage cricut cartridge at 1".  I plan on making more and change the words to Friends and cousins.

Hope you like it.

Paper Piecings by Nikki !

Hi Everyone.  I wanted to share a card that I made using digital images from Paper Piecings by Nikki.  She is a new digital artist that has really cute images and cutting files.  For right now, I am using her digital images until I get my sillouette - when I do, I am going to using ALL cutting files.  I can't get enough of them.

For this card I used her "Very Beary Christmas" set.  It comes in black and white and colored images.

I colored mine in with my colored pencils and for the snowflakes I used Martha Stewarts fine glitter.  I wanted the ear muffs to be puffy and the closest thing I could find was puffy white paint from Tulip.  The Christmas tree was cut out with my Winter Frolic cartridge and I used stickles for the ornaments.  The snowflake paper came from a DCWV Ultimate Premium pack.  For the greeting, I just printed it on my computer and attatched it to the front of this side step card.  I hope you like it and will go to
Nikki's store and check out her awesome designs.

Check out Nikki's Blog and enter her challenge, you have a chance to win an awesome giveaway!

25 Days of Christmas with Cooking with Cricut Day 11

Happy Sunday everyone!  How is everyone doing on their Christmas shopping?  I just went yesterday and only put a small dent in my list - but...it is a start.  This project I made is actually going to be part of a Christmas gift for my sister.  It is a scrapbook layout of her daughters (my awesome niece) wedding.
I used the Flower Shoppe cricut cartridge for the flowers, cut them at 2 1/2" and 3".  Placed them on a strip of black cardstock that I punched with a Martha Stewarts doily punch.  For the stamped wording, I used K. Andrews "Winged Things" stamp set.  If you have not seen or heard of her stamps, you are missing out on some awesome stamps.  You can see all her stamps HERE.  Kristal always donates a $1 from every stamp set to charity.

My sister doesn't always have the time to sit and make scrapbook layouts, so I like to take pictures throughout the year and surprise her with layouts at Christmas time.  She loves it. :)
Hope you enjoyed my layout.

Christmas Cards and Cookie Blog Hop

Welcome to Round Two of the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop! You should have come from Jearise blog. If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Dena’s blog. There was so much response to the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop that it had to be split between two weekends. Round One was held last weekend. Round Two is this weekend, beginning on Saturday, Dec. 10th, through Sunday, Dec. 11th. We have a talented group of women who love papercrafting and baking. Each of them is sharing a recipe for a yummy Christmas treat along with a Christmas card or tag. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some great ideas for your own Christmas gift giving this season. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!

For my project I made a family favorite called Dream Cookies.  I remember my mom making a double batch of these cookies and before we could eat them all, she would put them in a container and freeze them.  Little did she realize that we knew they were in the freezer downstairs and all four of us children would go down and have a snack every now and then.  I can still remember unhappy she was when she went to pull them out of the freezer when we had guests, only to find an empty container still in the freezer.  LOL

I am going to bring these on my shopping trip tomorrow with my sisters so we can remember holidays past and remember my mom.  I made a card with the recipe inside, so I can pass this recipe down to my niece whom will be joining us on our shopping trip.

For the sentiment on the front of the card, I used K. Andrews stamp set called "Winged Things".  It is an awesome mix and match set.  If you would like to see more of her stamps you can visit her page HERE
I hope you try this recipe, it is quick and easy to make - much like a shortbread.

Thank you for stopping by - your next stop is April

Please scroll down to see "Secret Santa Blog Hop"

Welcome to another Christmas paper piecing with Nikki. I hope you all had a chance to see the wonderful projects everyone made yesterday.  They were truly an inspiration to me.  I want to thank Nikki for inviting me on such a fun hop this weekend.  I have really enjoyed myself.  Don't forget to check out Nikki's blog and see all the wonderful digital images and cutting files she has, they are simply adorable!

Today I used a digital image from Digital Delights.
This is Pickles the Penquin - isn't he just stinkin cute??  I colored him in with my colored pencils and cut him out.  For the background paper I used DCWV Ulitimate paper pack and then I just tore some white cardstock for the bottom of the card.  I used crystal stickles for his hat and for the top of the snowbanks.  Hope you like him as much as I do.

Your next stop is my wonderful talented sister Patti

For my project today, I decided to make a gift and recylce at the same time.  I used a plastic container that cherry tomatoes came in, placed 4 votive candles in it and surrounded them with basket filler.
On the inside of the lid, I placed a small white piece of cardstock so it looks like it is matted in red like the outer lid.  Tied a red poka dotted ribbon around the outside and tied a bow in the front.  The little reindeer came from Create a Critter cricut cartridge.

The sentiment on the top of the container is from K. Andrews "Fashionable Friends" Stamp set.

K. Andrews stamps are awesome, they stamp clear and they cling beautifully to your acrylic blocks.

Christmas Paper Piecing Blog Hop

Welcome to the VERY first Paper Piecing blog hop by Nikki.  Nikki is a talented artist that creates cutting file and digital stamps.  Along with this being her first blog hop to show off some of her awesome designs, it is also a design team call!  I am hoping to be selected, because I have a silouette cameo on my Christmas list and I would LOVE to use some of her cutting files :).

For my project I decided to use one of her digital stamps of a reindeer.  I fell in love with him and his crooked little smile.
I thought he looked a little love struck, so I used a sentiment from Pink by Design stamp set called "To the Moon".  It says "Nothing prepared me for your smile."

I used Martha Stewarts branch border punch and matted it on some maroon cardstock, to give it a holiday feel.

Hope you like it.  Please stop by Nikki's Blog and check out her designs.

Your next stop is my very talented sister, Patti.

Here is the lineup in case you get lost along with way.

Girlie Girl Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Girlie-Girl Blog Hop, where all things girlie girl will be seen. Each person has their own interpretation of what girlie girl means so this hop should be fun.

Lorby's World is our hostess for this hop so please begin the hop at her blog: http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com/ and continue through from there.

Lorby will be giving away a $10 gift card to winner's choice of Michael's or Joann's. Rules to be in the drawing: 1. Comment on all the blogs. (These ladies have put a lot of time and effort into their projects so show them the love.) 2. Become a follower on Lorby's World blog.

For my project I decided to go with a cute little fairy.  This fairy was a free digi from Cuddlybuddly and I fell in love with her.
I colored her in with my colored pencils and then used Crystal Stickles on her collar, dress hem and her little tiara to give her a little bit of sparkle.

The sentiment is from K. Andrews "Winged Things" stamp set.  This is a great stamp set because it lets you mix and match your sayings.  This sentiment used three stamps!  You can check out her awesome stamps HERE.  Kristal also donates $1 to a charity for each stamp set you purchase - how awesome is that?

Your next stop is Gina.  She has a super project waiting for you :)

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #62

Welcome to another great challenge that cookingwithcricut is having.  The challenge is to create a project using either Wreaths, pinecones or candles.

For my project I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and make a tealight card.
I saw the instructions for this card on http://scrappeskreppe.blogspot.com last year, printed them off and found it very easy to use.  I just had to convert cm into inches.  For more of a fall feel for this card, I used fall colored tealights and raffia.  I have seen them made with ribbon to hold the candles in also.

I stamped the top of the card with my new stamp set from inkadinkaclings.  Used versa mark ink and embossed in clear embossing powder.

The pinecones that I popped up are from the Cricut cartridge Potpourri Basket - cut them at 1 1/2 inches.

The sentiment is from K Andrews Winged Things stamp set.  If you have not tried her stamps, you are missing out on some super quality stamps.  I love how sticky they are and how crisp they stamp.
If you are interested in her stamps, and for some tips and ideas, please go to her website at
You will love doing business with Kristal, she is such a generous person, she donates $1 from the sale of every stamp set to a charity.

Cathy's Birthday Blog Hop

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Today is Cathy's birthday, I am not sure if she wants us to post the age, so I won't but we will be wishing her a very happy birthday at any age!!  I was so honored when she emailed me and asked if I would help her celebrate her birthday.  I love to celebrate birthdays because I don't look at it as getting another year older, I look at it as celebrating them being in my life for another year!

For My project I decided on making a birthday card with my all time favorite Cricut Cartridge Hello Kitty.  All the images on this card just make me smile which I thought would be perfect for a birthday card.  I hope you like it.
Recipe:
Card base - Studio G (Micheals $1.00 card set)
Hello Kitty cut at 3 1/2 inches
Birthday sentiment - Stampin Up! Well Scripted stamp set
Flower embellishment - sticker from my stash..
I used stickles on the hands and feet to make her sparkle just a little bit more, and used a little bit of stickles in the center of the flower.

Your next stop in this hop is www.ladyluvbug.blogspot.com

Here is the lineup in case you get lost, and please don't forget to stop at Cathy's blog and wish her a very Happy Birthday and join in on the celebration and link up your card on Cathy's blog.  She is going to have prizes to give away.

What I am Thankful For Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2!  If you just came from Christina's blog, you are in the right place.  If you would like to start from the beginning, please start at Lisa's Blog.

I struggled with day 2 because I am so thankful for so many people in my life.  When I sat back and tried to narrow it down to just one person, it really made my count my blessings.  My father, who has always, and still is right there by my side to lend a hand, or an ear to listen to me when I have a problem.  My father has to be one of the most understanding person I know.  I am thankful for two loving sisters.  I have always looked up to my oldest sister Patti, I admire her many many talents.  She is an amazing cook, mother, grandmother, quilter, crafter and a great friend.  She has such a great creative spirit that just energizes mine.  I admire my other sister Cindi, for her thoughtfulness, strength, sense of humor and her love of shopping!!  My brother, Scott, is one of my best friends.  When I named my son Christopher Scott, I made a wish that Scott would play a big part in his life - and I got my wish 1,000 times over!  My son and my brother are inseperable.  They worked all week together and even on weekends, Christopher has to be with his Uncle.  I have stepped back many times to thank God for making my wish come true.  I have a boyfriend that loves and spoils me like no one else has ever done.  He supports my crafting hobby, he has even told me he envys me, because I have a hobby that I am so passionate about.   My other blessing in my life was my mother.  She stood by me no matter what.  When I was upset, she would always take my side and give me advice on what to do.  When I came home from work sick and she would see my car in the driveway, she would stop in to see what was the matter and then go home and start a chicken soup and jello for me.  She and I had a ritual every year of going to the Bangor flower show in the Spring and she would tell me what all the flowers were and where I could plant them.
So you see, this one was very hard to pin point on just one person when they all mean so much to me.  I can honestly say, I am truly blessed and for that I am thankful.

Your next stop on the hop is Theresa

My project is ...
A scrapbook page of my son Christopher.  He is my greatest accomplishment!!  Chris loves to hunt and fish.  On this particular day we took the double kayak out and he fished while I took pictures.  I had the most wonderful day with him.  I loved every minute I was with him.  He caught so many fish and I loved watching him reel each and every one in.  We paddled all around the pond, so relaxing.  It meant a lot to me that he wanted to spend his afternoon with his mom.

To be eligible for the grand prize, you must visit each blog, leave a comment and then become a follower of every participant in this hop. You also MUST visit my blog and leave a comment on my blog for the day and also become a follower at "Scrapping With Lisa" and my facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Scrapping-with-Lisa/130882060268842. The Great Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hello, and WELCOME to the The GREAT PUMPKIN Blog Hop!! We're so excited that you could join us for this WONDERFUL two-day hop!! Please be sure to visit BOTH days for maximum ideas, maximum FUN, and maximum chances to WIN!! Our hostess, Amy at www.lovetocrop.com has some SUPER prizes for a few hoppers, so be sure to check out all of those details on her blog!!

If you have hopped here from Amber then you have arrived at the perfect spot in the pumpkin patch!! If you are just popping in to visit, please take a trip back to Amy's Blog (www.lovetocrop.com) to start at the beginning -- with all the pumpkins in the patch, you'll want to be sure to see them all!!

For my project I have created.....  a step card.  My most favorite season of all is Fall.  I love going to the apple orchards and going through the corn maze, enjoy a fun hay ride to the apple orchard and sipping on some hot apple cider.  Then there are the pumpkins!!  I love the field colored with orange and watching the little ones trying to pick up the pumpkins that are twice the size they are, but are just as happy to sit on them for pictures.  I tried to re-create a pumpkin patch.

Recipe:

Barrel:  Paper Doll Dress Up cut at 7"
Corn Stalks:  Paper Doll Dress Up cut at 3 3/4, 4 1/2 & 5"
Pumpkins:  Wild Card Cartridge cut at 3 & 4 inches.
Stickles were used for the "glow"
Sentiment stamp - Studio G from Walmart
All the paper I used was from Recollections "Spice Market" paper pack.

I am offering a Christmas 6x6 paper pack for my blog candy, for the Christmas project that we will be making soon.  All that I ask is that you leave a comment.  Would love it if you became a follower, but it is not required to win the blog candy.

Thank you again for visiting.  For the next stop in the Pumpkin Patch, please hop over to Colleen.

Catitude Blog Hop

Welcome to the “It’s All About Catitude” Blog Hop in honor of National Cat Day, October 29, 2011, and our furry little felines hosted by Barbara http://barbarab3.blogspot.com/. The theme of the hop is “It’s All About Catitude” and 19 crafty ladies have come together to create some purrfectly adorable projects in honor of National Cat Day and our furry little felines. If you came here from Vicki, then you are in the right place. But if you happened to end up here, then you will want to go back to the beginning at Barbara’s http://barbarab3.blogspot.com/ and hop along with us as you don’t want to miss any of the meowy purrfectly frisky projects. The hop will run for two days, October 28, 2011 and October 29, 2011. So please be sure to check back each day to see what new project each of our talented ladies has in store for you.

For my project I made a scrapbook layout of my cat Key Key.  Key Key was a stray and one night, after getting into my garbage, I went out to look for him.  He had run under my parked car and when I called to him, he came to me purring so loud!!  He let me scoop him up and love him.  He and I knew right then and there that he had found his forever home.  I found out months later, that someone had just dropped off a litter of cats on the side of the road, I saw many of his brothers and sisters in town.  I was given a loving gift that night, he became a part of my family like no other animal I had ever had.  This cat...would ride in the car with me without being in a carrier.  He would hop in the back window and watch the world go by and then come up and sleep in my lap while I was driving.  You should have seen the looks on people's faces when I drove by.  I would chuckle every time.  Key Key would see me coming down the driveway and lay down in front of my car, just so I would stop, pick him up, and drive him the final 10 feet to park my car.  Sadly...I only had him 7 short years. He got really sick and we had to put him down.  I made a card out of the picture of him and inside I wrote down all the things I loved and will miss about him.  The card on the bottom is from the vets office.
He will always have a special place in my heart.

I do have some blog candy before you leave!!  I am giving away a $10.00 gift certificate to Michaels, Joanne's or AC Moore - your choice.

Rules to be eligible for Blog Candy:
(1) You MUST visit each blog and leave a comment on every blog in the hop each day

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #57

Welcome to another great challenge from Cooking with Cricut.  This weeks theme is Scarecrows, Crows, Haystacks and a Sketch.  I chose to do a layout using the above sketch.
This little boy is my great nephew when he was 3.  We had taken him to the apple orchard and he found the pumpkins and the scarecrows.    I used Storybook cartridge for the leaves which I embossed with my cuttlebug folder, punched to the top and bottom borders with my Martha Steward border punch and the cute little girl scarecrow is from Papercrafting World.  All the papers were from DCWV.

Adopt a Pet Blog Hop

Welcome to Lindascreativity and CookingWithCricut.com "Adopt A Shelter Pet" Hop!  October is
National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, but we wanted to honor and celebrate all of our furry friends!  If you've come from visiting Maria Elean at www.mariaelenaworld.blogspot.com, you're in the right place!
If you've just happened across my blog and would like to hop along with us, you can go to CookingWithCricut.com and start at the beginning.
this little dog, Mickey came into my life when I went to the Vets office with my other little Shit-zu.  A little old lady was his first home and when she passed away, the Vet adopted him.  He spent his days at the Vet's office in a cage.  The Vet asked me if I would like to adopt him for free!!!  He had all his shots and was a very healthy 4 year old.  I couldn't say no, he was bouncing all over the place and had plenty of kisses for me.  We had our struggles at first, he is one little dog that likes to try and teach you that he is in charge, but then Mike came into his life and I realized then, he is truly a man's dog.   These two are always together.

I used Four legged friends for the little dogs in the corners and papers from the scrap box.

Now it's your turn!  Link up your purr-fectly wonderful pet-themed project at CookingWithCricut.  Here are a few guidelines:

Must Follow the challenge topic.
Must be a NEW project for this challenge.  No back dated posts please.
Must have a link back to this post on your blog.
Must link your project post through inlinkz and not just your blog.
Must use your Cricut in some capacity.
Must HAVE FUN!
You may gladly combine challenges...we love to pile it on TOO!

The Design Team will pick their three favorites and one lucky person will be chosen randomly to win one of the prize packages being offered in this hop.  There is also a prize package for just leaving us some love (a comment) on the CWC blog.  One catch, those leaving comments MUST be a CWC follower.  Each prize winner will receive a $20 gift voucher-download from PaperCraftingWorld.com.  The Design Team's top three will each receive $5.00 gift voucher-download from PaperCraftingWorld.com.

Now head on over to Heather at www.heather-p.blogspot.com to see what they've cooked up for you!
