For my project I made a tea bag holder. I took the Pequin from Santa and Friends into my silhouette studio software, duplicated the image, flipped it and welded him at the top of the hat.
then I just used a little ATG to hold the tea bag in place. The saying on the front came from a stamp set from Close To My Heart.
Thank you so much for hopping with us today. We hope you've been inspired to try some of these ideas. Please leave us a comment, we love hearing from all our fans. We will be picking one fan from all the comments to win some PPBN files. Tell us what you will be making for Christmas this year!
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all....

Be Good for Goodness Sake!
Happy Friday everyone. How is everyone doing on their Christmas shopping? My shopping is almost done, but not my Christmas cards! I can't believe I am this far behind in my cards, I mean, isn't that we all love to do?? Augh - next year I am starting in July.
This is a card I made last night using Nikki's file called Santa and Friends. This is a great file, there is a penquin, these two little elves, Santa, Rudolph and Frosty - so you can make a lot of projects with this one file.
I decided to combine a few of the files together in my Silhouette Studio software and just print and cut them out. I added stickles to the penquins hat. When you need a quick and easy card, print and cut is the way I go :)
Hope you like it and please take a minute to pop over to Niiki's store - she has some adorable files, perfect for your Christmas layouts and cards.
We will be having a Blog Hop tomorrow, Saturday the 15th, you won't want to miss it, there are so many great last minute gift ideas.

Christmas Decoration Bears
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.
I am on the Design Team for www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com and today is my day to post using one of her newest files, called "Christmas Decoration Bears".
I also used "Merry Christmas Gingerbread Train" file for the Christmas tree. In my Silhouette Studio I grouped the little teddy sitting on the ground to the Christmas tree and cut them out as one piece. Then I cut out the larger teddy holding the light bulb by himself. I used stickles on their Christmas hats and along the top of the snow mounds and liquid glass on the light bulb, their eyes and noses and on the star on top of the tree. The stamp came from CTMH stamp set called "Holiday Wishes".
Hope you enjoyed my card and will hop over to www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com and see what she has new in the store. She is always adding new files. Don't forget to stop in on Friday - at 12 noon, she offers one of kind file that is only available from 12-8pm. After that you will never see them again.

CTMH Inspirational Wednesday!
Welcome back for week 2 of our Close to My Heart Inspirational Wednesdays. I am having so much fun playing with my stamps. These stamps are awesome, they are clear so you can position the image in just the right place.
This week, I used "Snowflakes" it is a set of 11 stamps. The order number if you want to order it yourself is, D1480 and retails for 17.95.
This week, I used "Snowflakes" it is a set of 11 stamps. The order number if you want to order it yourself is, D1480 and retails for 17.95.
The cardbase is Recollections pack of 24 cards from last Christmas.
I cut white cardstock 3 x 5 and cut strips approx 1 1/8th x 5"
Then you put the pieces back together, stamp and then reposition them with just a small space in between each strip.
I wanted my card to be more dimensional so I used the Art Philosophy cartridge and cut out the coordinating shape of each snowflake and popped it up.
I love how the Art Philosophy cartridge has coordinating stamps - really makes the possibilities endless.
If you are interested in the Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy or the Artiste cartridge or you just want a
great quality stamp set, visit www.pattiross.cthm.com . Don't forget while you are there to check out the "while it last" section, they have some great deals going on right now.
Unfortunately, I do not have a winner of the petite perks stamps set, so I will offer it again this week along with a Close to My Heart catalog. The catalog is a great inspirational resource!!
Please leave a comment and you might be the winner. I will announce the winner next Wednesday.

Today, I made a popcorn slider! These are a lot of fun to make and there are so many ways of decorating them.
Cut the wrapper at 6 x 9, punched a hole at the top and threaded about 13 inches of ribbon through the holes. Then you push the ribbon down as you slide the popcorn in, when the popcorn is all the way in, tie a knot and then a bow - you now have your slider :)
I used Nikki's "sitting reindeer" file along with my Martha Stewart snowflake punch. To dress it up a little more, I added some liquid glass to the reindeers nose and crystal stickles to the rim of his santa hat and pom pom.

New CTMH Inspirational Wednesday - Winter
Welcome to the first CTMH Inspirational Wednesday. This weeks theme is Winter.
For my project I chose to work with the stamp set called "To You and Yours" .
I used my spellbinders dies for the circles and cut them out using glitter paper. I stamped, colored and hand cut the cardinal out and popped it up on some foam squares. The sentiment is also from that same stamp set which reads "Love and Joy to you and yours". I just love this stamp set! If you would like to order this stamp set, please visit www.pattiross.ctmh.com the order number is B1403.
Special for the Month. If you order $50 or more, you can get the stamp of the month set for only $5. This month the stamp set is called "Save The Date". Here's a peek:
If you purchase this stamp set, you can also get a stamp set of your choice for 50% off!!!! Also, CTMH will be donating $1 of every sale to the Hurricane relief effort, to help those affected by Sandy.
Please visit www.pattiross.ctmh.com to shop for all of your Close to My Heart supplies.

What a cute MONKEY!!!
Happy Monday everyone. Today is my turn to post a project for www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com. She has so many adorable files, and this one is only .99! I fell in love with this little monkey the second I saw him.
I used the png file and hand cut this money out (but you could use the silhouette and print and cut ) the monkey measures 3 1/2 inches. Then I went to the silhouette studio and found this cut file. It is actually called bookends, the other side of it says baby, but I just wanted the cute, and then wrote the baby's name and info on it to make it personal. This monkey just makes me smile!!!
If you have not had the pleasure of shopping over at www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com I suggest you do, she has the cutest files!!

Snow is Coming - lets celebrate!
There is something special and exciting about the first snow of the season. I live in Maine and tonight we are expecting the first "Nor Easter". Not your typical Maine Nor Easter because they are only calling for 1-3 inches of snow. A typical Nor Easter for Maine is 10-14 + inches of snow. But the first snow is coming so I made my first winter/Christmas card.
My image came from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com it is her freebie snowman file. I didn't want to make a typical standing snowman so I made him looking up at the sky - as if he was watching the snowflakes falling to the ground.
Red cardstock - Pebbles "Welcome Christmas" paper stack (really nice weight paper)
White cardstock - from my stash, embossed with the cuttlebug embossing folder
glitter - Crystal snow, from Stampendous!
Crystal stickles were used on the hats rim
Liquid Glass, from CTMH were used on the eyes
I am entering this card in 10 challenges!!!

Kimi/Pam - http://lovebugcreations3.blogspot.com/
Amanda S - http://scrapbookinghayven.blogspot.com/
I love Fall, it is one of my most favorite seasons. As Halloween gets closer, I like to make luminaries to line the walk way to the front door. Where I live now, we don't get any little trick or treaters :( - but I can still enjoy luminaries on my table.
The luminary base came from the Silhouette Studio, in the software I was able to take an image from Nikki's "Beary Scary" file and cut a hole in his belly for the tea light to shine through. The smaller luminary, I used Nikki's "print and cut" feature and cut the shape of the Frankenstein bear and then placed two colored ones on each side. Nikki's files are so versatile with all the different file types, the possibilities are truly endless.
Here is a picture of them lit up with battery tea lights.
I placed a little sheet of vellum behind the openings. I love how they came out and you can do this with any of Nikki's files - like I said, the possibilities are endless. Hope I inspired you to think outside the box.
I am offering BLOG CANDY!! All you have to do is go to www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com and tell me what your favorite file is. You can win a Martha Stewart's CIRCLE CUTTER.
Now for some fun!!! After you've hopped through our design teams amazing projects, come back to www.paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com and link up your own fall celebrations project. The rules are simple.

For the background, I used Martha Stewarts "Punch all over the page" Crow and Branch pattern. I love it!!! The little candy corn bear is from Nikki's "Beary Scary" file. I used crystal stickles on the headband and the middle of the candy corn to jazz it up a little. To make the eyes and nose shine, I used liquid glass.
This card was easy also. I just punched two crows out on the side of the card and placed the little ghost bear, again from Nikki's "Beary Scary" file, on the side.

Back to School blog hop
Welcome to the Back To School Blog Hop with Paper Piecings By Nikki Design Team. Nikki has created some great back to school files and we are here to give you some ideas on what you can do with them!
If you arrived here from Amanda then you are in the right spot. If you want to start at the beginning, then you can start at Nikki's Blog - www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com
Here is my Back to School project:
My son is turning 23 this weekend (1st day of hunting season and he is sooo excited) and this is the 2nd scrapbook layout I have done for his elementary years. Yes, I am very very behind!!!
I used Nikki's file "Back to School" for the School bus and little bears, the "Fall Character Boarders" for the cute border on the top. The title I cut from the Silhouette Cameo.
This little kindergarten picture of my son brings back so many memories. This little boy did not want to go to school. I did everything to get him excited about going to school, I took him to the school's playground and showed him how much fun it would be, we looked at the school buses...but nope, he made up his mind he was not going to school. So I wanted to make sure there was journaling he could look back on and hopefully his children. So I used Martha Stewarts scalloped boarder punch and wrote Christopher of my memories of his first day of school and slid it under the layout.
Your next stop on the hop is with Barb Thank you so much for joining us today.
If you get lost along the way, you can find you're way here.

Stair Step Card
Happy Monday!! Today is my day to show you a project for www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com. I am still working with the "Beary Scary" set she made a few weeks ago. It has so much to play with, I am getting a LOT of use out of it.
I love stair step cards, you actually can create a little scene. - So cute!
I used the print and cut file that is one of the options that Nikki has with her files. So even if you don't paper piece, you can print these cute little guys out and cut them out by hand or with a machine.
The trees in the background were cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cartridge, everything else is from "Beary Scary".
Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

Halloween Layout
Happy Friday everyone! I have been on vacation this week and it feels so good to take a few days and just play and be creative.
Yesterday Nikki, from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com came out with a huge adorable halloween set, so I just had to make a layout using those cute little bears.
I used my Silhouette Studio program and combined the bottom images together and then print and cut them out. This new file comes with a lot of titles, but chose "2 cute 2 scare" for my layout. Used Martha Stewarts cobweb punch for the sides of the background page and photo mats.
Hope you will check out this newest file from Nikki and enter to win a Silhouette Cameo!!! The Silhouette Cameo is such a great machine - Good luck!

Beary Scary...
This is the newest file from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com - isn't it the cutest??? There are sooo many possibilities with this one - it is HUGE!!.
Here is a little box I made using just one of these cute little characters.
I used the print and cut feature for my Silhouette Cameo so I was able to make this project in less than 15 minutes. These would be great to put a few little pieces of candy for those special trick or treaters that come to your door.
To make the box, I used Close to My Heart's Artiste cartridge. If you have not seen this cartridge or heard about this cartridge, you have to check it out. This cartridge has over 700 images, and many many 3D projects. Lots of different boxes, cards, cupcake holders, cupcake wrappers and 3D flowers. They also have coordinating stamp sets that go along with their images.
If you would like to order this cartridge or any supplies from Close to My Heart, please stop by my website at www.therrien.linda.ctmh.com and place an order. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at therrien_linda@yahoo.com and I will be more than happy to help you.
Thank you for stopping by, I have a lot more projects planned using Close to My heart stamps and the Artiste cartridge, so I hope you will come back again.

Gobble Gobble...
Today is my design team post for www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com. It has been so HOT this summer that my mind has turned to cooler weather. I chose Nikki's "Happy Thanksgiving" file. I love fall and all the smells that go with the season. I used the turkey in that file to make this card.
The card base is 5 x 5 by Studio G
Embossing folder is from Darice called "flower" it is the 5 x 7 size
a little faux stitching and it is done. :).
Hope you like it. Please visit Nikki's store and see all the wonderful files she has, you won't be disappointed.

Outdoor layout
A few weekends back, my son and his girlfriend hiked up Tumbledown Mountain in Maine. I have never been there myself but it looks beautiful and looking at their pictures, looks like they all had a great time. I wanted to make a scrapbook layout for them to put their picture on and remember what a great summer they had together.
I used two files from www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com . "Untamed Heart" and "Campin Crazy". In my silhouette studio software, I arranged the rocks and trees from Campin Crazy and then popped dotted the cute bears on top of the rocks from "Untamed Heart".
I am entering this layout in 5 challenges.

www.critterchallengeblog.blogspot.com - Anything goes
www.incywincydesigns.blogspot.com - Anything goes
www.diecuttindivas.blogspot.com - Anything goes

I hope you like the layout and visit Nikki's store to see her amazing files. You don't need a cutting machine or fancy software, she has them in all files - including ones so you can cut them by hand if you wish.

Back to School layout
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here in Maine the weather was warm and beautiful. Yesterday I made this Back to school layout using the "Back to School" file from Paper Piecings by Nikki.
For the photo mats, side boarder, and the scalloped circle, I used my cricut Art Philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart. This cartridge offers so many fun shapes!! Did you know when you order this cartridge it comes with 3 sets of stamps that coordinate with this cartridge?? You will also receive a set of cardboard shapes that coordinate with the cartridge. So many ideas and possibilities.
Did you also know that Close to My Heart just came out with another fun and exciting cartridge? It's called the Artiste cartridge. This new cartridge has a LOT of 3-D items. It is so big it has two handbooks!
If you would like to know more about these cartridges, please leave a comment on how to get a hold of you, I will be happy to tell you more. Right now until July 31st I am offering you a special deal on either one of these cartridges. These cartridge bundles retail at 99.00 - and they are well worth the price. Until July 31st, you have your choice of either the Art Philosophy bundle, or the
Artiste cricut bundle for only 80.00 plus shipping and handling.
What you will get is the Cricut cartridge bundle of your choice, (which includes 3 stamp sets, a set of cardboard shapes that coordinate), a free Close To My Heart Idea book, and a petite perks stamp set. You can also add for 5.00 more the stamp of the month set (reg price is 17.95).
You can email me at therrien_linda@yahoo.com if you would like more information or to order. Please put CTMH in the subject line. You have until July 31st to order at this price.

I used Nikki's file "Happily Ever After" for the silhouette, which I thought was perfect for the picture it is next to. The Name, photo corners were cut with my silhouette. The Established date frame was cut using my Art Philosophy cartridge.
I love how it came out - these two were truly meant to be together, you can see the love they have for one another in everything they do.

It's time for the Beach!
Happy Monday everyone. Today is my day to post for Paper Piecings by Nikki Design Team. It has been so hot here in Maine, we are in the process of putting up our pool, but in the meantime, we have been going to the beach to cool off. So I wanted to make a scrapbook layout I can use for our summer pictures.
I used Nikki's digital stamp called "Beach Bums" for the bear and "Under the Sea" for the Orca and dolphins. The title and photo corners came from the Silhouette Store. Hope you like it, it was fun putting it together.

Surprise Blog Hop !
Thank you for joining us for a very special blog hop today. Today we celebrate
the birthday of our "head nut" Nikki. Nikki is the owner and designer of
Paper Piecings by Nikki where you will find wonderful paper piecing patterns.
This hop is dedicated to our fearless leader from her design team
Each of the DT member's has created a special card for Nikki including a
special message on the back side of the card. The cards have all been placed
in a book and sent to Nikki for a memento of her first Design Team members.
Please take the time to stop in and visit each of
our DT sisters blog and make sure you leave some comments for the DT. We all
depend on those comments to help us improve our work.
If you have arrived here from my sisters blog Patti, you are in the right place, if not you may
want to start from the beginning: http://lovestoscrap11.blogspot.com/
And here is my card to Nikki:
I remember when Nikki first showed up in one of the challenge blog groups on facebook. She wanted to start a design team but didn't know how or if she should do it. We all encouraged her to go for it. She gave us a free digi and we were to make a project with it. From there she would choose her design team. This is the digi she gave us to work with. I fell in love with it right away!!!
This is the card I made for her design team call.
I am so glad to be part of her design team. I have loved getting to know Nikki and watch her talents blossom. Happy Birthday Nikki, you are an inspiration to me!!
Thank you for helping to celebrate the birthday of a wonderful designer,
but more importantly our friend!
Happy Birthday Nikki!
Now hop on over to Mindy to see their card for Nikki!!
